  • BYOD can be a hot topic in schools and how do you control it and set up a policy to use it? This tweet provides a template on what steps to take on developing a policy. I like that it provides step by step ideas for schools to do and also gives suggestions on who is responsible for each step and ideas to use to complete each step.

  • In my classroom, I'm always looking for different ways to use the iPad as a learning resource. I haven't heard of the Book Creator App, but it appears to be something that I could use in my classroom during my reading groups.

  • I want to use Google in my classroom more and show teachers at school how it can be used. This will be something I reference to get ideas on different things that it can be used for. Currently no one at school (or that I'm aware of) uses Google.

  • Usually when the discuss of flipped classroom comes up it is from the teachers perspective and how it benefits them. I found this interesting in that students also like the flipped classroom because it makes them more accountable for their learning and also makes them realize the importance of attendance.

  • I would like to use Twitter in my classroom, this gives some great pros and cons on how to use it and make it an effective tool!

  • I find my self struggling when creating comments on my students report cards, I can't remember what I typed previous quarters and am clicking through so many pages to find out. This would make it alot simpler if I used Google Forms.

  • Variety of short cuts that can help you when you are creating documents in Google Drive. One that I like was word cloud an add on that looks at a document and shows what words you use the most.

  • Reading loss over the summer is huge in our district. Last year the average loss was 20%! I think this would be a great reference to send home with the students to encourage reading over the summer.

  • 30 iPad apps to use in your paperless classroom. I found some of these apps interesting even if you aren't a paperless classroom.

  • I think this would be a great tool to use during team meetings or when we meet for our Power Hour (RtI) groups and try to find different interventions to use in groups.

  • I am always looking for different things to use in my classroom to support and enhance our new math curriculum. I liked that they had a real life one that would be good to use with the upper grade levels.

  • This site is designed to help learn a variety of languages. With younger kids it would be a good site to use to come up with different websites and apps to use with different skills.

  • There were numerous apps and tools to use in classrooms. There were iPad apps, web 2.0 tools, and a variety of websites to use in the classroom. There were many great things on here!

  • A freshmen in high school wrote an article why using technology helps students learn. She mentions that most of middle/high school kids access social media throughout the day, they need to be connected with their friends. But when they are at school doing assignments if the students don't feel engaged in the lecture/assignment then they lose focus and turn to their own technology and connect with their friends though social media. This article really gives a student perspective as to way using technology in the classroom is important.

  • This quote really makes a person stop and think on why they went into education. Sometimes I think towards the end of a school year it's hard to remember, so this would be a good quote to have in your classroom!
